What you'll learn
- Give the guide a clear title and introduction
- Fix wording and remove extra steps
- Crop, zoom and blur screenshots
- Add tips, warnings and headings
Steps
Name the guide
At the top of the editor, fill in Guide title with what the person is trying to do (“Raise a purchase order”, not “PO process v2”). Add a line or two under Introduction (optional) if they need to know anything first.
Fix the wording
Click any step's text to change it. Words between **double stars** show in bold – keep button and field names bold so people can spot them on screen.
Reorder or remove steps
Use the ↑ and ↓ arrows on a step to move it, and Delete to remove a step you didn't mean to record.
Tidy the screenshots
Crop keeps just the part that matters, Zoom to click focuses on what was clicked, and Blur an area hides anything private – drag over it. Full screenshot puts the whole picture back.
Add tips and notes
Type into Tip for this step for a helpful hint. Use + Text step below or + Add a text step for a warning, a heading or a step that happens away from the screen.
Read the guide once as if you'd never used the system. If a step makes you pause, that's the one to reword or add a tip to.
- Your changes save as you go.
- Automatic blur covers password, card and ID boxes. Anything else on screen – names, emails, customer details – is up to you, so look at every screenshot before you share.
