FlowHop help
New to FlowHop? Learn FlowHop has short step-by-step lessons, a welcome pack and a kit to train your team. See what's new in the latest version.
Record a guide
- Open the web page where the task starts.
- Click the FlowHop icon in the toolbar (pin it with the jigsaw icon first), then Record a new guide.
- Do the task as normal. Each click, choice and typed field becomes a step.
- Press Stop on the small Recording label (or Stop & edit in the FlowHop menu). The guide opens in the editor.
If the task moves to a different website, the box pauses and offers Keep recording on …. Click it (or the FlowHop icon) to carry on. To skip this, switch on Follow me to any website in Settings.
Edit and download
In the editor, change the wording, drag to reorder, crop, zoom, blur and add text steps. Download gives a web page (free), or Word, PDF and Markdown (Pro).
Update a guide when the software changes (Business)
- Open the guide and choose Update ▾ → Update this step, or start from the FlowHop icon → Update all guides.
- FlowHop opens the page and rings the control. Click it as you normally would, or press Capture screen. Press Show me how in the box for numbered steps.
- With Update all, tick the guides to include, capture each changed screen once, then review before → after.
- Press Issue (or Issue all). Each guide gets a new version with "What's changed".
Make a reel (Business)
After issuing, press ▶ Change reel. Choose 16:9 or 9:16, edit captions, then Download video. Whole guide makes a walkthrough; System overview makes a video from several guides for new starters.
Tell your team (Business)
- Press Tell your team. Pick a distribution list or type names and emails.
- Choose what they get: a PDF and the reel (attached in Outlook drafts, or downloaded ready to add in Gmail and other mail apps), and an optional "Confirm you've read this" button linking to your own Microsoft or Google Form.
- Choose Outlook, Gmail or Copy. Your mail app opens the message; check it and press send.
- Back in FlowHop, press ✓ I've sent it, so next time "Same people as last time" is right.
Good to know
- Auto-redact and the broken-step checker catch the common cases, but neither can guarantee to find every sensitive detail or every change on a website. Always check a guide before you share it.
- Read confirmations: FlowHop doesn't track who opens or reads your updates. The "Confirm you've read this" button links to your own Microsoft or Google Form, which records the responses. Email read receipts depend on each person's email app, and people can decline them.
Plans and billing
Every install gets 3 free tries of paid features – each paid action, such as a download, an update or a reel, uses one. Annotations, auto-redact and document control use one per guide. Buy or change plan from Settings → Your plan. To cancel or update your card, use Manage billing there. Your guides stay on your computer if you cancel.
Using your plan on another computer
- Install FlowHop on the other computer.
- Open FlowHop's Settings → Your plan → I already paid.
- Enter the email you paid with and follow the steps. Your Pro or Business features switch on there too.
Removing FlowHop doesn't cancel a yearly plan. Manage it in Settings → Your plan → Manage billing, or with the link in your Stripe receipt email. Yearly plans can be cancelled any time and keep working to the end of the year you paid for. No refunds except where consumer law requires.
Moving to a new computer
Guides live on the computer where you made them, and removing FlowHop deletes them. To move one, use Download ▾ → Shareable guide (.flowhop) (Pro), then Import a shared guide in the Library on the new computer.
