What you'll learn

Steps

  1. Open the annotation tools

On a step, press Annotate. Choose ➚ Arrow, ▭ Box, ① Number or T Text and click or drag on the screenshot. Undo annotation takes back the last one.

  2. Cover something up

▨ Cover puts a solid patch over part of the picture – useful for a sidebar that's irrelevant or a detail you'd rather not show.

  3. Auto-redact the whole guide

Press Auto-redact…, tick what to blur – Email addresses, Phone numbers, Long numbers (accounts, IDs, references) or My words (set in Settings) – and press Blur them. Remove auto blurs undoes it.

  4. Add your own words

In Settings, list names, client codes or anything else under Auto-redact: my words, one per line. They apply to steps recorded after you add them.

  5. Check every screenshot

Scroll through the guide once more before sharing. Blur by hand anything the automatic tools didn't catch.

Tip

Use numbered markers when one screen has several things to do – the step text can then say “Fill in 1, 2 and 3”.
