Getting started

Install FormHop. A welcome page opens.
Choose Protect every site (recommended) and allow the access Chrome asks for, or choose Only when I ask.
Pin FormHop: click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar, then the pin beside FormHop.

If the FormHop icon shows an orange !, setup isn't finished yet – click the icon and choose Finish setup.

Restoring lost answers

After a reload or crash: go back to the form. A FormHop box appears in the bottom-right corner; click Restore.
One box only: right-click the box and choose Restore this field (FormHop).
From the toolbar: click the FormHop icon on the form's page. Each saved session is listed with Restore and View.
Anything else: click All saved forms in the popup to see and copy every saved answer.

FormHop only fills empty boxes, so it never overwrites anything you've typed since.

Copy of a submitted form

When you submit a form, FormHop keeps a copy of the questions and your answers. Open All saved forms, choose the form, then the "copy of submission" link. Use Print / Save as PDF to keep it. This is FormHop's record of what was on your screen, not confirmation from the website that it was received.

Drafting in Word (Pro)

Open the form. For multi-page forms, click Add page to draft on each page.
Click Export to Word. You get a .docx with every question, its limit, and a grey [FH-…] reference line. Keep those lines – they tell FormHop where each answer goes.
Write your answers under each question in Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice, and save as .docx.
Back on the form, click Fill from Word draft and choose your file. Check the preview – answers over a limit are flagged – then click Fill the form.
Check the form and submit it yourself. FormHop never presses submit.

Pro and payments

Pro costs A$19 a year or A$29 once. Every install includes 3 free Pro tries.
Buy from FormHop's Settings → Get Pro. Already paid on another computer? Use Restore purchase with the email you paid with.
Cancel a yearly plan any time: FormHop Settings → Manage billing. Pro stays active until the end of the year you paid for.
No refunds except where consumer law requires.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
Popup says "Off here" or "Not available"	Browser pages, the Chrome Web Store and some sites don't allow extensions. On normal sites in "Only when I ask" mode, click Protect this page.
Popup says "Paused here"	The site is on your never-save list (banking and sign-in sites are by default). Click Resume on this site if you want FormHop there.
Nothing was offered after a reload	Check the popup on that page – your answers may be listed there. Some sites rebuild the form with different boxes; use View to copy answers in by hand.
A restored answer doesn't "stick"	Click into the box and type a space then delete it – a few sites only notice real key presses.
Word draft didn't match any questions	Make sure the matching form page is open and the grey [FH-…] lines are still in the document.
